Each year the three longest serving committee members step down, and three replacements are elected. The members who step down are permitted to stand for re-election.
Each member takes on a portfolio of responsibilities. Their role is then to sit on the committee, if there is one, of organisations within their portfolio and to pass information and views in each direction. That committee member is the first point of contact for an ordinary member who has a query on a subject within the members portfolio.
Members are also responsible for coordinating RBA activities in a certain geographical area, usually determined by where they live.
